Intel Purchase Security Firm McAfee for $7.68 Billion

World’s largest computer chips maker company Intel purchased the California based software security firm McAfee Inc. for $48 per share that totals $7.68 billion on Thursday. The deal appears as company’s largest ever takeover with an aim to add security software to its own products.
McAfee, also based in Santa Clara and founded in 1987, is one of the world’s largest security technology companies.
McAfee are one of the most well known software security suites that focuses mainly on cyber security and helps in the fight against viruses, malware, spyware and other computer related issues.
According to officials from Intel Corp, McAfee would help Intel get semiconductors laden with security features into smartphones, cars, televisions and other devices.
The Chief Executive Officer of Intel Corp. Paul Otellini in statement revealed that people from all computing experiences will be benefited from the deal with asecurity of Anti Virus.
Both boards of directors have unanimously approved the deal.Under the agreement, McAfee’s senior staff will continue to lead the company as a wholly owned subsidiary, reporting into Intel’s Software and Services Group.
