Cleaning and Caring!!!
Did you all try to be a bit watchful towards your jewellery? As keeping those tips in mind can ensure their everlasting sheen. But, I was just thinking that you must be having problems to treat the already worn dirty pieces. This is another little attempt to solve the problem of cleaning.
Have a look:
- Gentle & Effective Ways to Clean Diamond Rings
Soak your diamond ring in a warm solution of mild liquid detergent and water. Ivory dishwashing liquid is also a good choice. Use a soft brush if necessary to remove dirt. [Never use a brush with bristles that are stiff enough to scratch the ring's metal setting]. Thereafter rinse it thoroughly in warm water.
Dry the diamond ring with a lint-free cloth. If the diamond and setting needs extra help, use a dental Water Pick to flush away small bits of grime. You can also use a wooden toothpick to push dirt away.
- Follow the same procedure for cleaning pure pearls; taking care of few notes that is:
Never clean your pearls with solutions that contain ammonia or harsh detergents, or any ultrasonic cleaner.
Don’t use abrasive cleaners or rub pearls with abrasive cloth. Both can wear away the coating, leaving you with a plain looking bead.
- Gold jewellery worn on an everyday basis can become dull and dingy.
To get started all that is needed to clean gold jewellery is a mild detergent and a soft brush, an old toothbrush works great for this. Dip the brush in the detergent and gently scrub the item, paying attention to the small cracks and crevices. Rinse the item thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Use polishing cloth to ensure the jewellery isn’t scratched during the polishing phase. This will take away the dirt and grime that can build up from normal use.
P.S: [If the jewellery has heavy caked on dirt it might be necessary to make a solution of one part ammonia and six parts water, and then soak the piece for 1-2 minutes. This should loosen the grime and make it easier to brush away. After brushing and rinsing, it is a good idea to use a soft cloth to polish a shine onto the jewellery.]
- Silver–Use a polishing cloth
One of the best ways to clean your jewellery is with a professional jewellery polishing cloth. The cloth is treated with cleaning chemicals and not only will the cloth last a long time; it will give you an amazing shine each and every time. Silver polishing cloths are available at major supermarkets, at hardware stores and at jewellery stores.
Give your jewellery a polish after wearing, and before you store it after use. This removes oils, fingerprints and dust, and will keep your jewellery in spotless condition.
Now when you have the jewellerΓÇÖs expertise to keep the jewel pieces in their everlasting shine; Let me all proudly wish you happy wearing!!!
